Cleveland.com takes a closer look at the 2026 race for Ohio’s 14th Congressional District, including where Maria Jukic and Rep. Dave Joyce stand on the issues facing Northeast Ohio.

Highlights:

“She said her priorities include saving Social Security, standing up against data centers, and establishing protections from artificial intelligence.”

“I have a fire in the belly to represent people in this district, to make changes that’ll improve the lives of regular Americans, to stand up to what I think are abuses in our government,” Jukic said.

Economy: Jukic said ending the Iran conflict and reversing tariffs she calls illegal should come first, and will reduce costs. She argues that corporations have used inflation as an excuse to pad profits and says she’d support a $ 15-an-hour minimum wage.

Data centers: Jukic said hyperscale data centers are pushing their way into Ohio communities against the will of the people. She said Congress could rein them in by setting up environmental and consumer protections, as it has done for other industries.

Immigration and ICE: Jukic wants a broad overhaul of the system, including an “achievable pathway to citizenship for people who have been in this country for a long time, who have followed the rules, who have paid their taxes, raised their children, are good members of society,” she said. She also supports a guest worker visa program and citizenship for Dreamers brought to the country as children.
