In the last year, our government has been blatantly and shamelessly violating the Constitution and undermining the Rule of Law. Congress is letting them.

I took an oath to the Constitution – twice. First as a lawyer and then as a City Councilwoman. I take it seriously. I will remind people in Congress what the Constitution says, and I will stand up for the Constitution – even when I don’t like it.

When my family was discriminated against and persecuted in a communist country for their beliefs and for being on the wrong side of the government, they were immensely grateful for this country where everyone was treated equally under the law, regardless of wealth, class, or immigration status.

We are losing the rule of law and I want to restore it.
